Steps for manufacturing of concrete:
The steps of manufacturing concrete are as follows:
a. Batching
b. Mixing
c. Transportation
d. Placing
e. Compaction
f. Curing
g. Finishing
a. Batching: The process of measuring different
concrete material such as cement, aggregate, sand, water for making concrete is
known as batching. It can be done in two way
·
Volume batching
·
Weight batching
Ø In volume
batching, the measurement of concrete material are taken in volume.
Ø In weight
batching measurement of concrete material are taken in weight.
b. Mixing: in the process, all the material
are thoroughly mixed in required proportion until it shows uniform colour and
consistency. The mixing is done by two method.
·
Hand mixing
·
Machine mixing
c. Transportation: when the mixing is done the
freshly mixed concrete is then transported to the construction site, this
process is called as transportation. It can be done manually or mechanically.
d. Placing: After the transportation, the
concrete are placed correctly on the formworks.
e. Compacting: Compaction is the process in which
the air bubbles are eliminated from the freshly placed concrete. It can be done
·
Hand compaction
·
Machine compaction
f. Curing: Curing is the process in which
concrete is kept in moisture for certain period of time. Curing should be done
properly to increase strength of concrete.
